The Cercle Littéraire Irlandais was set up in 2019 to create a connection between people around Irish literature and culture.

It highlights the work of Irish authors, poets and artists based in Ireland or abroad. It also encourages new authors, poets and artists, giving them a platform to present their work.

Cercle Littéraire Irlandais events are open to all. In 2020 participants from France, Ireland, UK, US, India, Singapore, and all around the world, joined one of the Sunday Series for a poem, reading, or music.

The Cercle’s inaugural event was held at the Irish Cultural Centre in Paris on 8th March 2019 (International Women’s Day) to ‘Celebrate Women with Words’. In 2020, the Cercle launched its virtual, successful ‘Sunday Series’

A not-for-profit association (association loi 1901), the Cercle Littéraire Irlandais receives funding from the Emigrant Support Programme administered by the Department of Foreign Affairs of Ireland and is strongly supported by the Embassy of Ireland in Paris.
